Canal Boat Holiday in the UK
I'm thinking about taking a trip sometime soon, and the idea of hiring a narrowboat and tooling around a small area of England/ Wales/ Scotland intrigues me. Has anyone done this or know about such things? I'm thinking of a small boat (maybe going by myself) starting somewhere close to a major airport, for maybe a week.

We did the Norfolk Broads many years ago. Miles and miles and miles of meandering canal, pubs you can moor-up at for beers and pies...Not particularly close to any major airports, however, and be careful where you choose to swim!

Theres plenty of canals around the Birmingham area and you can go in just about any direction you fancy. Close to a major airport and lots of choice.
