Accomplishments and Goals
Well, I enjoy seeing alot of peoples accomplishments and what they have done since they started dieting/re-did eating/lifting weights, So lets make this a thread for before/after your diet and if your still improving, good motivation ^^
(all fields are optional just curious honestly how everyone else has been doing) Before: Weight: 270 Body Fat: Dont wanna know Squat: 155 Bench Press: 95 Mile time: 16:22 *ouch* After: Weight: 215 Body Fat: 18-24% (stupid scale is so random gonna get some calipers soon Squat: 175 Bench Press: 100 (didnt go up much which sucks, been working alot more on legs though since trying to get rid of the extra skin around my hamstrings/calves, for some reason alot of stretched skin around there and hardly any around my arm area.) Mile Time: 9:40 And best of all im still improving each day! Goal: Weight: 175-185 Body Fat: 12% Squat: Whatever I get to Bench Press: same Mile Time: 7:30 I have recently added some HIIT exercises to my diet also and am hoping for some good results from that Been dieting for 5 months and weight lifting alot for the last month and im proud of my results honestly, I hadn't noticed how much stronger I had become. I just hope to continue improving. The best advice I can give anyone just starting weights is make SURE you are doing the form right, I can honestly say when I started doing squats and dumb-bell exercises my form was terrible and bad form gives you worse results and also puts you at a big risk of injuring your back and legs, the best thing to do is practice without any weights or very light and just use the bar and have someone check your form, if your doing 10 pounds heavier but your forms off and you risk injury/worse results, whats the point? Also, for those of you who arent dieting, it is hard to start, but once you get going the results are wonderful, the feeling of your stomach being smaller and in general being more athletic is nice, I hated walking up a flight of stairs and having to pant, and when I started I thought it would be impossible to give up good tasting foods, but honestly, Its very rare I get a craving for a high calorie food anymore, and when I do it fills me up very fast. So for those of you who arent dieting, if you arent proud of your stomach or something on your body, work to get it off, you will be more proud of yourself each day and feel better getting up in the morning. |

Insane progress bud! Keep it up, you are doing awesome.
Dont get hard on yourself about your weight lifting not getting a lot of improvement. It is next to impossible to gain muscle when losing fat due to the fact that you need more calories then your BMR to gain muscle and when losing fat you are obviously taking in less calories then your BMR. For those of you shedding fat, aim on maintaining your strength. In your case you not only are maintaining, you actually can lift a tad more then when you started. Perfect job! |
