Cold Sores!!
Does anyone else get these annoying ass things?
I'm supposed to get with this girl this weekend, and this little focker decides to pop up on my lip. I can only hope it heals before then, I've been using some Abrieva and it works great. It's been two days and it's almost gone. I don't usually get them but once or twice a year, so it doesnt really bother me, but why now dammit! |

I'm glad you are using Abrieva, it's good stuff.
Some of my "blood" in that product. I was the Mgr. of IT at both the non-profit firm Medical Biology Institute (MBI), which invented it. and Lidak Pharmaceuticals corporation founded by the same man to make money on it. Both in the same building. The CEO of both firms asked me as IT Mgr. to get into the CFO's company system to get his faxes. Turns out the CFO was a financial assassin used by the Board to undermine the CEO's businesses. The CEO denounced the Board, and they fired him from the for-profit firm. There was then a battle for everything between these two firms. I was then Mgr. IT of two battling firms. I was then finally dismissed from the for-profit, for the actions ordered by the CEO. And then I was let go by the non-profit because they couldn't afford me while battling the for-profit firm. The non-profit dissolved from lack of resources But the legalities & rights between the two were still being played out 2 year later, when I was called into court as an expert witness. Within that 2 years, the for-profit firm had changed its name from Lidak to Avanir, and finally came out with a OTC product called Abrieva. I saw it work on someone else years ago, and it helped even a rash on their hands. It's a good deal, too bad it was a difficult birth between divorcing parents. |

The corporate trails and travails that are behind every single product on the market, but no one ever hears about, just fascinate me. But then again, I am easily fascinated...
Oh! Shiny piece of metal!

Hey Corbra,
Won’t help you much now but whatever you do, DO NOT TOUCH IT! Especially when you are getting that tingling feeling on your lip as its just beginning to form. The less you touch it the smaller it will be and the faster it will heal. Abrieva seems to work but frankly I think it just an incentive for you to stop licking and biting the cold sore and let it heal by itself. Cold sores are caused by a variant of the herpes virus, the virus never leaves your body and manifests itself when your immune system is weak or by exposure to the sun. The immune system can be weakened by stress, a poor diet or another sickness. If you get them often take it as a sign. If it doesn’t go away by the day of the date you can always go to a chick friend and ask her to cover it up for you. Just make sure she knows what she is doing otherwise you will be leaving lipstick on the girl, and thats might be strange ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I get them too. I HATE them. I have Abreva and notice no difference. I try to get it on as soon as I feel it starting, but I ave not luck. It still seems like I have one for a week. I get them really bad. I sometimes have one break out after eating buffalo wings. Am I crazy, or can the spices in the hot sauce cause a cold sore to break out?

One thing I would recommend, no oral sex for a while. There is a danger of transmitting the virus to the genital area resulting in a genital herpes infection. Basically there isn't much difference in the various herpes virii. It depends on whether it shows up in the genitalia or the mouth. So, be very careful about transmitting the virus.
