DC to LA by car

Im planning a trip by car from DC to LA. I want to hit as many quality attractions on the way as possible. Im looking for a good mix of natural scenic locations, monuments, historical places and fun attractions. I have 2 weeks to make the trip so there is no hurry. If anyone knows of a good website of has a location I should make a trip to let me know. thanks.

Try this:

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/

Every cheesy, twisted, or just plain bizarre tourist trap or mibegotten cultural attraction from coast to coast. I wouldn't plan my _entire_ trip from this site, but you could definitely get some ideas there.

I made this drive in reverse when I was 8, with my family.

The stop that sticks out the most was the Arizona Crater. It blew my mind to see a hole a mile across, but thats just the mind of an 8 year old

My family went from D.C. to Wyoming. On the way, we stayed at The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole. That covers a lot of the Northern Route. There isso much to see and do, so good luck.
