How Much Sleep Do YOU Get?
I was curious: how much sleep do TFPers get per night?
You can average in weekends if you want, you don't have to. Mainly, I was just wondering about those who have class or work on the weekdays, but you can be as general as you wish. (This might be an awkward poll, but here it goes anyways...) |

Usually throughout the weekdays, I don't get much more than 6/7 hours of sleep a night. I just enjoy staying up late. But sadly, I also have to wake up pretty early. But usually on the weekends I sleep in pretty late, so that kind of makes up for it.

I usually get around 6-7 hours of sleep, and of course like 12-14 on the weekends if I don't have to get up. However, I am a HUGE nightowl. I'll stay up until 4am, even if I have to get up at 8am.
I have this thing in my mind, and if I think something's going on, or someone I want to talk to is around or something .. I can't sleep. Its hard to explain, but I'll be dead tired early on a Friday night or something, and I can't fall asleep if I think something is going on that I might miss. Weird. |

I get a lot of sleep these days -- 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 on weekdays, 11 on weekends. I used to sleep about 5 to 6 per night, but I took a class on the dangers of sleep deprivation and tried sleeping more. Turns out, I remember things so much better with this much sleep, that I study much less and get better grades without losing any free time. I actually get something out of going to lecture besides a quick snooze.
I highly recommend it. Next time you need to study, take a nap instead! |

4 to 5 is fairly typical. I go to bed around midnight and get up at 5am. I almost never sleep more than 6 to 7 hours even after prolonged weeks of 4 or fewer hours of sleep per night.

Ive gone thru different phases of sleep levels in my days.
I had been used to 5-7hrs/nite, now lately ive been around 7-8hrs. Sleep around 11, wake at 7am. Since ive been working out more rigorously, I feel the need to sleep a little longer, and it helps. I feel much better mentally and physically. Sleep is good people |

Never enough.
If left to my own devices - dark, quiet house, no alarms, no pets screaming to be fed - I'll sleep for 9 hours and probably STILL have a mid-day nap. Usually, though, I get about 6-8 hours, which is enough to keep me going. Ratbastid thinks I don't actually sleep much, since I'm kicking and twitching my legs all night long, hence the tiredness even after a lot of sleep.

Naps rule! There's nothing better than coming home from work, and then just in under a blanket on the couch with my girlfriend and sleep for an hour or so... I love it!
Usually I sleep for 6-7 hours, 8 if I go to bed early (and don't have sex) |

I'm the only one in the 0-3 hours catagory! I'm an insomniac who doesn't like the sleeping drugs, so I'm kinda screwed. The nice thing is, I hit my REM in about 2.5 hours, so even if I do only get three or 3.5 hours of sleep I at least get to dream. After my cycle ends, I usually wake up on my own. I do enjoy a nice nap in the afternoon though . . . prolly around 30 minutes or so. . .

I usually only get 5/6 hours a night, but try not to sleep in too much on the weekends because it just makes it that much harder to get up when Monday comes around again.

My sleep schedule varies a lot. Sometimes I only get 3 hours for 2-3 nights in a row. Sometimes I sleep 12 2 nights in a row.
But the majority of the time I get 5-9 hours. It's a little closer to 5 I think, so I voted 6/7.

About 7 hours each weeknight.
If no alarms are set on the weekends, anywhere from 7 to 10 hours. Lately I've been reverting to my night owl schedule on weekends - up till 2 or 3 am, and sleep till 11 or noon.

I've been getting about 4-5 hours a night. I've had a bit of insomnia recently. I'll sleep more on Friday/Saturday nights, but usually only if I've had a few.

For me, it's typically something like 6 or 7, unless my insomnia is kicking in.
I've had it since as long as I can remember, and sometimes i'll go several days with zero sleep, no naps, no nothing, but i'll feel perfectly fine. And then, one day i'll just feel sleepy at the normal sleep time, get a normal-length sleep and go back to normal like it never happened. It's weird. |

It seems like the older I get, the less sleep I need. I never can sleep more than about 7 hours a night - even if I'm really tired. It's always funny to me when peple like to sleeep alot, I just can't imagine spending that much time sleeping.

I sleep constantly and always have. I can go to bed at 10pm and still sleep till 12 in the afternoon. Does anyone else have this problem? I get tired out really easily and take alot of naps during the day too. I'm even prescribed Adderall as a stimulant to help keep me awake. It becomes a problem because alot of the time I'm too tired to study, get dressed, go to school etc. It makes my parents mad because they think I'm being lazy, but I really am tired! I even get mad at myself because I can't get alot accomplished during the day because I'm so worn out.
I have been tested for diabetes but don't have it and do have a light case of anemia, where I can't skip meals but other than that doctors can't find anything wrong with me. I have been diagonsed with depression and take medications to help it out which work (sometimes). That's the only thing I can think of that would make me so tired. Even though I want to get things finished and not sleep! By the way do you dream in color or black and white? I dream in color, my mom in B&W. If you speak another language, do you dream in English or your native tongue? I sleep so much that I've learned to control my dreams which is kinda neat. I always dream at night too. In my dreams I have taught myself to fly and when something bad might happen in a dream, I tell people off or leave because I know I can! |
