Funny, I remember believing (I think) but I cannot for the life of me remember the time when I was told (or realized) that there was no Santa Clause. Seems like that would be one of epiphanies that you remember forever, but not me.

Why open them up to that harshness so early? Like I said before, adulthood is far too serious. I'd love to go back to the time I believed in Santa Claus. Happy, happy memories there.

It's a state of mind - you can go there as often as you want. ;)

Until I was 5.

I caught my parents putting the presents under the tree. I do remember not really caring.

Believing in Santa Claus for me was like trying to believe in God. I couldn't understand it, but I tried to go with it. I don't know if I really "learned" that there was no Santa Claus, I just sort of came to accepting it. And as for God... that goes in another thread.

Heck yeah I did.

Christmas has changed a lot. When I was a kid, Christmas was the day of the year I looked forward to the most. I have so many incredible memories from childhood Christmases. However, once I got older (I guess really once I stopped believing in Santa), Christmas took a downturn. It is still wonderful, and I still love getting together with the family, but it has lost a lot of that magic. I do get a lot of joy out of watching my little brother on Christmas, though, but even that is somewhat melancholy once I realize that he is at the point where Christmas will start to go down.

Thats not to say I dont still love the season, though.

I definatly believed in Santa. My mom always made it a big deal because she loved the idea. Luckily for me, finding out there was no real santa wasn't tramatic. I just realized one day that it wasn't possible.

As far back as I can remember I don't remember believing in Santa. I think it was probably because my mom didn't care what we watched on T.V. when we were younger and so I learned from there. I remember seeing watching Tales From the Crypt when I was about 5.

Yeah, I believed in Santa Claus for a bit, but then word got round my school that he didn't exist. That caused all sorts of conspiracy theories about who it really was, the Post Office, the Government, etc. When I figured out it was my parents, at about 6 or 7, I kept pretending I believed, because I thought it would make them happy. Cray bit of role reversal, huh?
