ingesting mouse droppings
 

I'm at work, and was eating a couple of cookies after lunch. The cookies were in a bag in my desk. I just noticed that some of the cookies were chewed, and that there were what appear to be mouse droppings in the bag (they look kind of like chocolate sprinkles).

However, I'd already eaten one before I noticed. I'm pretty sure I just ate mouse droppings. What should I do now, and what health problems should I be looking out for in the near future?

That absolutely sucks and not to hijack your thread but I have a sort of similar expirence. I was once eating some mini doughnuts backstage at my theatre and the last one I ate tased funny. So i turned on my flashlight and looked at the package they came in and it was covered in ants. Ahhhhh creepy. Ah well nothing happened to me but it was just ants. Fecal matter is al together different. Well best of luck!

If you are not sick now, then you are fine. Mouse droppings dessicate so quickly that they probably do not pass a lot of bacteria. Mice have been running through people's food for thousands of years, and it hasn't killed us yet.

but isnt that how the black death spread through europe or something? I heard is was because of mice pooping on cookies. you better watch out, redlemon.

I read you'd have to eat cat feces to beat the mouse feces into submission. or snake feces.. but those might be hard to find

I'll ask Lurkette to send some bat guano from her backyard, just to be safe.

when i was little we had a shag carpet in our living room.....and i used to lay on it and watch tv.......i used to see these mouse turds which i thought were rye seeds....what ever those thingies are in rye bread and i used to play with them....like picking them out of the rug and shit......


im sure i have eaten them.........im okay...i really think it mattter on what the mouse last feed on..

but i have heard of some diseases caused by inhaling mouse droppings

You will probably be just fine. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

actually, that was passed by a type of flea that was carried by rats. 1/3 of the western worlds population can't be wrong...

My daughter (then a baby) ate Lady bugs a couple years ago when they were so prolific in our area. Drove me nuts but apparently they aren't posoinous - at least in small qualities.

Me as a baby - my mom found a button in my diaper once.

When I was young my mom used to feed me crap about dandelions and how they supposedly have milk (?) Well, one day I decided to eat a dandelion, it just so happens that it was recently sprayed and the yard had one of those little flags in it telling you you're not supposed to walk on it for 24 hours. I don't remember what happened after that, sorry. But I'm still alive!
