Dr. Phil
Seriously guys...
What's the deal? I mean, he's fat. Not the rap star cool phat. Just the 'take the farking donut out of your mouth' fat. Would you take diet advice from that man? (Don't think I have asked this question in an unbiased manner, but oh well...)

Not only is the guy a joke, but I hear (from the Howard Stern show) he isn't even a doctor of medicine nor psychology, he is an unsuccessful therapist who was working in his father's practice.
He gives simple obvious answers to typical problems, and any man who has actually seen him talk should also know that he caters to women and is very quick to put blame on men. I cannot stand to hear his moronic sounding voice even when accidently flipping past him on television. If we have any Dr. Phil fans, let me please direct you to a site in which you can pretty much get better "help" by toying with it as you could if you were to actually speak with him live: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/drphil.html I obviously voted against the large headed bafoon |

i just love that segment on Letterman when he takes short, usually incriminating grabs from Br Phil... like say, Phil would be vocalising some poor schmoes problem, and they´d only play that.
love it. we get Dr Phil during the middle of the day down under... and i wish we didn´t. it takes him ages to say something we say in a few short words here... ¨have a bloody good hard look at yourself mate!¨

Ha, I love that letterman segment as well, actually thats one reason why i sometimes watch the show, so you can think of good things that you could take out of context
although i haven't seen it for a while, is it on anymore? maybe not in Australia..... |

I like Dr. Phil. I've got a couple of his books, and his common-sense "It-hurts-when-you-do-that-so-don't-do-that" advice is always funny.
But I agree, a fat guy who has no real medical background writing a diet book is questionable. On the other hand, there was a profile of the Body-For-Life guy in this month's outside magazine, and he's a real asshole who first made a name for himself writing a book on how to abuse steroids. As a general rule, I think most people take advice from people that are horribly unqualified to give it. |

I get tired of pop psychologists with easy answers for complex problems and complex answers for easy problems. Too often they have little or no qualifications. They give psychology a bad name. Dr. Phil is a prime example of a bad pop psychologist.

HAHAHA, Harshaw.
The people I used to commute to and from work with used to listen to that Dr. Laura Schles-something-or-other lady. Its terrible how she just rails on people. Its as if she does the show just to boost her own sub-par self-esteem. Dr. Phil may as well have 5 Ph.d's when compared to her. Bah... they're both quacks. |

If he has no medical background, or a health and fitness background, he shouldn't be giving diet advice. Especially if he's overweight himself.
