Anybody ever been there? Living near there?

Me & 4 buddies are going over there for 2 weeks this weekend and we don't have the slightest clue what we can expect when we arrive, apart from some official sites about the town itself and a local surfing-school.

I know it's a long shot with most people being from across the Atlantic and all, but I figured I would try anyway... Thanks for any comments in advance

When I was last there I remember seeing...Big, big waves.
Charming seafront, big waves. People speaking French, and a sea that will knock your socks off. Have fun!

Castex: jup, the waves will be a welcome sight. Gonna get some surfing done if at all possible.

lol, found your way here huh. And like I already said, surfing isn't lame, it's that movie of a few people pretending to be surfing that was lame

I spent 2 weeks in Bordeaux a number of years ago. That area of France sure is nice.
