Mysterious Aches, Bruises, Cuts???
So maybe I was drinking and hit my arm or head on the wall or something but I didn't.
Yesterday when I woke up my whole body just ached and I don't know where these bruises and little sorta cuts came from. It is only a few but it's odd. Doesn't really bother me or hurt or anything it's just confusing. Maybe it's just a cut but I don't remember. I have had like real big bruises from runnin into walls and crap when I was bein stupid but I know I haven't done anything like that. At first I was gonna post this in Paranoia but I thought this might be a better place for "real" answers :p Thanks for thoughtful responses :) |
I can't say that I've ever had any myserious bruises or aches or cuts, but I know others who had and it's kinda freaky. I never did figure out why it happened.
Oh, and right now my triceps are still sore as a mofo from working out the other day... omg did I ever over-do it! |
My wife will point out bruises on my bod and ask me where they came from. I haven't a clue, specifically. But usually I've been working out, so there are two possibilities:
1) Wandering around the weight room I bumped into something hard like a weight rack, or a bar, or something. Everything's hard in a weight room. This kind of bump doesn't really hurt much at the time, but it bruises up later. 2) Burst blood vessels under the skin from going all out on certain exercises. Can happen around the joints, particularly around the knees after a hard leg workout. Cuts I can't help you with, the only "unknown" cuts I ever had occurred when I was working with stained glass. I was working in an environment where invisible slivers of glass were on every surface. If you didn't keep them brushed off, you'd get a little cut every time you brushed against one of them. And the pieces of glass were so fine that you'd never feel it; only notice it a minute or so later when blood was running down your finger. |
Aliens.
No really. Do you sleep next to a wall? Do you sleep with anyone? I saw this really amusing episode of Everwood where the wife of a really big guy kept beating him while they slept. You may be sleepwalking as well. |

More information. How many cuts and bruises? Where are they?
|
It could be just small things that are accumulating over time because you're not healing properly....it might do you some good to go get checked out...have a bloodtest and whatnot
|
like the main thing is a scrape a lil smaller than a quarter, on the side of my elbow, i dunno where it came from but it didnt really bother me. it's almost healed now.
i guess it just didnt hurt at the time for me to notice. |
I wouldnt start worrying until those mysterious scrapes and sores start appearing on your hanging down parts (if you know what I'm sayin :().
Seriously, I don't think you should worry. I get unknown cuts quite often myself :) |
One time I woke up to find my wife pinching my nose closed cause I was snoring.
She won't admit it, but I bet my mysterious bruises are from her elbowing me cause I snore |
Welcome to getting old.
I wake up all the time with odd bruises, aches and pains. In fact if I had woke up feeling like I do most days now, when I was 20 I'd have called in sick. Mine usually come from riding my bike. Don't worry, you'll get used to it. |
I walk into stuff a lot, and I bet its just that you feel stupid, try to forget about it, and actually DO forget about it.
|
I get these all the time too. Mostly I dont worry about them, but I've been known to just "start bleeding" for no reason. I dont feel it, I dont notice the bleeding until I look down or someone tells me.
Kinda scary really. |

I would video-tape yourself at night; maybe you're sleepwalking. I used to do that a lot as a kid...it's actually kind of strange that I never fell down the stairs or anything.
|
I get cuts a grazes all the time and I have no idea where they come from. I have a high pain threshold so I assume that I just didnt feel it happen. It drives me crazy sometimes trying to figure out how I did it but most of the time I just dont worry because it happens so much. Oh well...
|
When I'm rushing, I'll bump into walls and such. I'm too busy at the time to notice, but later I'll find the bruise and wonder how I missed the initial impact.
|
I'm so used to hurting myself I no longer notice it most of the time. I don't consider them mysterious anymore, just daily life.
