my chest hurts and i can kinda pinpoint the pain to my heart. i think it is due to all these years of drug abuse. anyhow, can anyone recommend vitamins/herbs that are good for the heart?

What kind of pain is it? Where abouts exactly? If you can 'pinpoint it' then it's less likely to be a heart pain and more likely to be from your chest wall (the nerves on your heart aren't very good at localising pain).
When do you feel it? - all the time, or just on occasions - and what are you doing on those occasions? Is there any heart condition in your family?, are you diabetic?, high cholesterol or blood pressure? age? male?

Interesting article about smoking pot and heart problems.
http://www.applesforhealth.com/smokingpot1.html Don't worry about herbs or pills when having regular heart pains, instead, head to the Doctor to make sure everything is ok. |

p0thead - could be you have palpitations (heart suddenly deciding to beat faster or slower). Is the pain sharp or dull? Where exactly on your chest?
It might be an idea to get yourself checked out by a doctor including an ECG and some thyroid tests amongst others just to make sure. I'd imagine once you have a diagnosis (and anything complicated ruled out) people can better recommend some vitamins/herbs for you.

Sounds like cliche has some good advice. Chest pain, especially in someone who does drugs can be any one of a number of problems. You really need a workup. All of the above mentioned tests and most likely an echocardiogram to rule out mitral valve prolapse. See a doc and make sure the problem is benign, then think about supplements
