Divorce paperwork for my mom...
My father just passed away and Social Security needs a copy of my parent's divorce paperwork. My parents divorced in 1978 in Bexar County, Texas. My mother needs proof of divorce, with a raised seal. We've had no luck getting the paperwork from Texas. Any advice?
Thanks in advance. Wyo

You've gone to the public records for your county and were not successful? That's really the only place those records are kept to my knowledge, if your parents do not have their own copy.

Yeah, the county should have that paperwork, if not the state. If they don't, they should be able to provide you with the fallback documentation that they've lost the records.

Check this link. Some counties will even allow you to access the records online.
