Odd Recipients on Your Holiday Card Mailing List?
Making out Christmas Cards (finally). My mailing list contains the normal list of family members and close friends. I also have some people on there that I have been told is crazy to send cards to now.
I was asked why I was sending a card to my old landlord? I lived in his building for 4 years. I got to know him pretty well and I like the guy. I always think I'll move back to that town and it would be nice to keep the connections. I'm also sending one to an ex's Mother and Sister. I love them like they are my family. They were there for me during some really rough times in my life. I still send them birthday cards too. I love them. Through a silly reply-all mishap my ex's wife accidentally sent me their address. I'm holding onto it because I need to write her a letter of apology of how I treated her. (Being dunk and slightly high off of some new meds is no excuse for my behavior.) I was going to wait until after the holidays for that. I will not be sending them a Christmas Card because I do think that would be weird. I used to send a card to another ex because he was a really good friend of both of my Brothers. I stopped sending a lot of cards to my brothers' friends though. I did send one to him and his new wife the year they got married. I am however sending a holiday card to a different ex and her current girlfriend. We're all friends now. I have no animosity towards the new girlfriend and am over S. If you send Holiday Cards, do you have "odd" people on your list? |
I send cards to internet friends I've never met or even spoken to on the phone. Some might consider that odd - I don't. Other than that, just IRL friends and family.

Two years ago, my sister broke up with her boyfriend of 10 years. I miss him and his family, but didn't send them cards this year. I don't want to cause them pain.

I try to keep our list pretty short, but i do like sending a card along with our December rent check to our landlord every year.

Oddest recipients ...
The people at my local Late Night Kebab shop. They'd made me welcome when I first moved into the area ... remembered me as a customer within three weeks and retained that memory even when I'd set up my own home-cooking habits. I stay away from those kebabs now, but the people ... they always get my best Christmas wishes. |
