DIY Space: Hacker Spaces and More
I know we have a number of people on here interested in home hacks of different kinds, be it what we come across in Make magazine or on Lifehacker. Yet some of us live in smaller spaces--and that is what intrigued me about this piece that I heard on NPR.
from: DIY 'Hackers' Tinker Everyday Things Into Treasure : NPR Beef jerky business card featured in the article: Quote:
Are there any DIY-spaces in your neck of the woods? Do you do home hacks? Do you have any hobbies where knowledge of home hacks has helped? Have you got any successes to share?

My town would never have something like that. Sharing tools and info for free is socialism or communism or something...
My garage allows me to fix and build things. Practical things. I also have access to a machine shop after hours to use the big equipment if I have a project that needs something. |

I really wish there were similar venues available in my area. I live in a small space, and I do have a small work bench and some tools, but there are times where it would be really nice to have a communal/reasonable cost of membership style workshop space that I could use.

You shouldn't fear ideas, especially those that in the correct context can be beneficial. Any how,
