Kettlebells
Does anyone have any experience with kettlebells? I just turned 41, and while I'm not fat, I have become a bit "soft". I've got no interest in joining a gym and getting all pumped anymore; I'll leave the bulging biceps to the young guys. From what I've seen of them in use, kettlebells seem like a great way to work on your core strength and general fitness. Has anyone used them?

never used them. i can see how they can be useful though.
cant wait to see you look like this fugly http://i.ehow.com/images/a04/p1/1j/w...ed-800X800.jpg |
I've used them. I did the workout where you squat down to the ground, grab it, and then push it to the sky, and then go back down and switch arms. It works out your entire body which is great. It also kicks my ass ha ha ha ha. I feel like I ran a mile after just 1 set.

These things work your ass off and are good if you want to work core muscles that will show. One of the key workouts the actors in the movie "300" did were kettle bells.

I'm gonna do some more research and see if this might be what I'm looking for. Basically, I'm needing some sort of exercise that will improve my recovery time after strenuous activity, and working on core strength seems like the best way to tackle that problem.
