Swollen Face
 

i noticed a zit between my upper lip and my nose and i tried to bust it down. nothing but a clear liquid came out. i shrugged it off and went to sleep. when i woke in the morning the right side of my upper lip was swollen along with a bit of my face. it feels and looks as if i have been punched.

any suggestions on how to handle this?

Yeah I just googled several different thing and they all came up with cold sore/fever blister to the dreaded Herps, I personally would go to the doctors, there seems to be far too many possibilities ranging from nothing to worry about to holy shit!

Hope it's just a fever blister, they hurt like hell and do swell the lip.

well, its not on the lip, its above it. between the lip and the nose. so far (like worlds king hinted at) people have told me it looks like a spider bite. i just dont know.

edit: im not kidding when i say it looks like i got decked in the face. my cheek is swollen and so is my lip.

Could also just be a simple infection. Zits get infected too, and they will swell up when infected, especially if it's a deep cyst. I'd suggest witch hazel and benzoyl peroxide.

thanks snowy. i dont think that i'll be able to locate any witch hazel in my small assed backwoods town, but the local pharmacy may just carry some benzoyl peroxide.

I would be seriously surprised if they didn't carry witch hazel. It's a pretty old-fashioned remedy. You can either find it among the hydrogen peroxide/rubbing alcohol or with the acne solutions amongst the toners. Regardless of what it is, the witch hazel is what is likely to help most with the swelling, even if it is a spider bite/bug bite.

And if you ever get a sunburn, it makes a great sunburn treatment!

ok found with hazel and got some ichthammol ointment.

going to have to ask lacy to use her zit-cream.

hopefully it will subside soon. if not, then it looks like i get to go see the local (horrible) doctor.

okay, about 3 days after i posted this i squeezed an outrageous amount of pus out of this thing. mom would be proud.
