Eye Exam
Now that I am 40, it was time to get my vision checked. The girl in the store was extremely helpful when it came time to pick out the frames. I like them so much, I cannot wait to get them. I got sunglasses too. (yes, I will post pictures of said glasses)
My question is: how long after they dilate your eyes can you see again? The light is bright and things are more blurry than usual. I should lay down and close them, but I'd rather be here. I was supposed to go pick up a cabinet I ordered and get my car an oil change, but I just didn't feel comfortable driving with my eyes closed.

When I had my eyes dilated in the past, my doctor would add a few drops of a fluid that would speed up the process of the eyes returning to normal, but more recently I was told this fluid was no longer available. When I asked my doctor about it, he mentioned the company that created the substance being sued by someone who was involved in an auto accident after getting the drops applied and blaming the accident on the drops not working as intended.

Well, it lasted about 3-4 hours. I had sunglasses but there was no way I could drive farther than home. So home I went. I just wanted to close my eyes. It was a weird experience, but at least I know what to expect next time.

I remember having this done when I was in my teens. I put on wraparound mirror sunnies for the next few hours.
It was winter. When people made asked - I'd just lift the glasses. Sorta cool (in my young mind anyway), because for a little while I had no iris at all. |
