We spend 11% of our net income for homeowners insurance, property taxes and utilities. We own our home, no mortgage, so that helps a lot.
We've also lived here for 15 years, in Florida there is a 3% annual cap on raising property taxes which adds up to a huge saving. Our property taxes were $720 last year but our neighbors were $2300. We more than make up for that in homeowners insurance because of hurricanes. |

mine is about 35% after taxes if I was to pay on my own, but I have my gf with me picking up half of that.
Life is good. =) half of one paycheck pays all my bills. the rest I try to save but mostly blow it on paying cash for large upgrades on the home. |
