Anyone know about baby gates?
I need to buy a couple to keep my beagle in the kitchen when I'm not home. He's being a bad boy.
One of my openings is 52" wide. So I'll need to buy an extra wide gate or buy a regular gate and purchase additional extensions. My question is if I buy a regular gate, will several extensions connect together to allow me to reach my desired length? Or will the gate only allow 1 extension on either side? Some of the gates I'm finding won't be the right length even with 2 extensions (1 on either side.) So I was wondering if they connect together - like 3 at a time. Hope this makes sense. tia! |

Feom what I remember, no they wouldn't connect. The longest gates get mounted to the wall but there are expandable ones. Babies R Us probably has what you need.

If youre serious about it I would make a couple wood extensions to fill up the space so that it'll reach. You only need a saw, nails or wood glue, and removable caulk (to make it sturdy against wall and floor, so you don't have to put any nails into your wall).

extra wide baby gate - Google Search
There's a ton of them. Modular ones ... single gate ones ... double gate ones ... He and his wife have had three children. Sarcasm killer! |

I'd say that you are looking specifically for a modular baby or pet gate/fence. I've seen some that extend across an entire room. The answer to your question in the OP is: it depends on the way the manufacturer intended for them to be used. Some you can keep adding modules until it's 9' wide: Wood Panel Pet Gates - Pet Classics™ others you can't. |

Go to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope not. I have one already up blocking him from getting in the 'cat room,' where I keep their food, water and litter boxes. He goes nuts when I feed them, trying to get in there but he's never succeeded. *knocks on wood* |
