How long does furniture delivery typically take?
I am moving to Atlanta. I am going to buy new furniture but I'm not sure how long it takes for furniture stores to get furniture to me! How far in advance do I need to shop if I want the furniture there the day I move in?
Thanks everyone! |
We've used a few different furniture stores over the years. They all delivered within a few days. So long as it was in stock.
|
Why not call the furniture store and ask? Chances are they'll be able to make arrangements for you, within reason.
|
That's what I was going to say. Just call a couple weeks ahead and tell them the day you're moving in. They'll probably be able to synch up with you.

/Atlanta joke ... OP: If you're buying new furniture at a local store, it could be anywhere from same day to however long it takes them to stock-in-warehouse juggle or back-order-ninja it. I bought a nice mattress once and the thing showed up in the middle of the day a few days (2-3) later. Positive experience. You should totally ring 'em and ask them for the deetz. |

Call 'em up and ask them how long it would take. Then add about five days to that :D We're still waiting...

Omigod!! When I went to hell a couple of months ago and spoke to satan about my bed, all seemed alright. I ordered the bed went through the whole shebang, and was told it takes a week to ten days.
I called them a week later and he told me in three more days it'll arrive from Wisconsin. I called them after 7 more days and the angel of death proceeds to tell me that he doesn't know whats happening but it should be on it's way. It took three weeks for the fucker to arrive. Granted it was a special order but do not go to rooms unlimited, if you think the DMV is bad ... |
Most local furniture stores deliver within 24 - 48 hours.
If you're talking custom, though, expect to wait anywhere between two to six weeks. |

Midtown's a great area for 20 something's and / or singles. You'll enjoy it. |
It took 3 weeks for our dining room tablet to come in. :( They didn't screw it up though, they told us in advance it would take that long.
|
You'll be about 20 minutes from me (as long as its about 2 am when clocking the drive lol)
Are you gonna be on the Tech campus or your own apartment? Have you been to Atlanta before....I mean for hanging out and stuff? You're gonna be very near the Varsity, which is a must see eat place unless you're a vegetarian...and little 5...oh man you must eat at the Vortex...if nothing else than to read the menu lol I adore being in Little 5...in the day time. Have you checked here to see if we have the same store you're buying from? Welcome to Atlanta!! |
I haven't been to L5P in a few years. I adore the place. I drop quite a bit of cash shopping even though the majority of decor and such is fairly cheap. I had my belly button pierced there actually. Just remembered that.

Sacred heart? thats where I got my first nipple done. Sad thing is, now that they are "revitalizing" down there, the cool stores (ie the bondage and other "fun" stores) are gone. Junkmans daughter is of course still there.

L5P looks pretty cool from it's website. The Vortex seems... interesting. And I'm not sure about even where to start. I guess I should check which stores are both here (KY) and in Atlanta. I'm living off campus. |
The Vortex is awesome and so is their food

We bought a bed from a locally owned and operated company a few months ago--they delivered the same day. Call around to the mom and pop shops in addition to the big boys, and you too might be so lucky!

To my knowledge, Sacred Heart is the only place down there, and I know they've been there at least 11 years cause thats how long its been since my first piercing....If there was another place, it must have been off the beaten path? SH is across the street form Junkmans Daughter /sorry to derail the furniture discussion lol |
The place had a whole tribal theme going on - including the font in their store name. The inside reminded me of Velvet Heaven (if you ever went there.) And I know it wasn't across from JD. It was mixed in with all the little shops and cafes.
