mushrooms and piss tests
 

so....

do mushrooms (the groovy psychedelic kind, not portobellos or criminis or shitakes) show up on piss tests? anyone know for sure?

just wondering...for entertainment's sake, not cause i need to worry about it....

Can't say for sure, it depends on the test. They COULD... but I've never heard of anyone testing for them. In any case, all traces would be clear after 2-3 days.

if it's just a piss test.. you have no worries.

Mushrooms don't for obvious reasons (you don't piss out mushrooms) ... but psilocybin and psilocin (the part that causes the fun) can show up. However, it is rarely something that is tested for. If they are specifically searching for psilocybin (or psilocin) they will find it and it can be found for several weeks--not days. It all depends on how hard they are searching and how much money they are willing to spend.

You piss out pretty much everything a standard piss test could find the first time you take a leak after eating the shrooms. As vanblah said, if they look hard enough they could find small traces a few weeks after, but chances are they won't be looking that hard.

In fact, if you drink the piss you take right after taking the shrooms you'll trip again...

It's actually a myth that it doesn't show up in pee tests.. because we take pee tests every week at this group therapy/anti-addictions thing I'm going to and this one fool got busted because they found traces of some shrooms in his urine analysis test. This is the first time I've heard of this happening, though.

That's why you should stick to LSD instead. Not only is it a better trip(explanation is a different thread all together), but the drug is actually metabolized as you are tripping, such that by the time you come down, it's out of your blood stream.

LSD and psilocin are both metabolized and excreted at similar rates, though LSD is a bit slower. The main difference is LSD is about 100 times more potent by mass and is thus much harder to detect in urine and the trip lasts longer. I think the trips are qualitatively similar, I do prefer LSD, but many people prefer shrooms too.
