Excess of Facial Hair. Help would be nice.
I'll keep it short.
Seems as if im growing facial hair high on my cheekbones, a bit under my eyes, and up the side of my face up on the temples. normal? can i do anything cheap about it that doesnt involve lasers? its not that thick yet, but its noticeable. |
Normal. Ever see Kurt Russell in the '82 remake of The Thing? Serious beardage.
It's extra manly. You should cultivate that stuff, dude. And be glad you don't have pathetic facial hair growth like me. ManicSkafe totally called me out on it in some thread recently. |
Hello neighbor.
Sorry, no solid advice really. Just wanted to say hello :o. |
never really noticed til you said something, cromp. did a google image search, my beard is going to be a bit worse.
...and hello, woods. |
Must you have facial hair at all? Just shave it all and keep up with it perhaps?
|
i like my beard :)
hopefully it'll look good when it comes in, or some further advice will be given. |
Most men need to trim/shave the parts of their face where they don't want beards. Not too many men want hairy necks, I don't see how the areas you describe should be treated any different.
|
I get mine right up to the bags under my eyes. Also my chest hair pretty much meets the bottom of my "beard line". I've seen people with worse and less, most people just shave alot. I say be proud of your beard, not many other people can grow an impressive beard.

ever seen teenwolf with michael j fox dude?
the chicks dig it |
|
LOL!
|
You gotta shape that shit!
No, but really. Lots of guys grow beards and shave them to desired shape. Very few faces grow perfectly beard-shaped facial hair. |

And if you're patchy, please don't think a beard on you looks good. :o

Also... where are the bearded TFPers? Roachboy and Baraka_Guru and all that? Huh? I demand beard action! |
My husband grew out a beard when I was away doing field work in 2007.

Did you make him shave it when you got back? lol
edit - nm. Didn't see the bottom line lol. |

i guess its more normal than i thought. i guess i just need to keep a razor handy from now on...damn-it. more insight on this is always welcome though. right now im feeling like an insecure bitch. |
Sorry, I won't be helping with your bitch insecurity in my post. If anything it should make you feel like chest thumping. When Hubbie and I got together at 17, his developement was stunted do to his body essentially attacking and "killing" his Thyroid. He'd already grown to his adult height of 6' 2" but he still had a baby face and small man boobs (he'd been a little pudgy as a kid). He had a very thin and sparse mustache and only the tiniest thatch of hair on his chest.
It took nearly a decade after being on Synthroid before he could grow a scraggly beard that barely looked like one after two weeks! Even now 20+ yrs. on, he only needs to shave around his stache, goatee and that little natural thingamabob under his bottom lip (I know there's a name for it) about once a week to stay looking tidy. It's got to be genetics because he "grew past" the Thyroid stuff many moons ago. Quote:
