What else could I put in with my hissing cockroaches?
I have a pretty big dry aquarium with about a dozen hissing cockroaches. They eat lettuce and fruits. So I'm looking for another pet that I could stick in there that would eat the same stuff and not hurt the roaches.
Any ideas? |

Must it eat the same thing? Because if not then there are some small lizards that may work (like an anole) since I doubt sincerely that they will ever attempt to take a cockroach of that size, and the crickets they eat shouldn't bother the roaches either. Outside of that, I'm not sure, maybe go semi-aquatic and put a fish or two in there?

Semi aquatic is too much work. And I don't like having to buy crickets. The place I have to get them at is far.
Snails maybe. Aren't millipedes carniverous? EDIT: after research African Giant Millipedes sound perfect! My only concern is that some apparently can emit a foul liquid that can be harmful. Wonder if that would hurt the roaches... Last edited by Zeraph; 05-28-2009 at 06:59 PM.. |

Personally, I would choose Raid! But whatever floats your boat. How about some scorpions? They would definitely keep the roaches on their multiple toes.
