Recommend a teacher's retirement gift
My kid's 4th grade teacher is retiring after 25 years at the school. I have no idea what to get him for a retirement gift. He is in his late 50s. Any suggestions?

If he his married/partnered, I would suggest going in with others on a gift card to a nice restaurant. My father-in-law retired after 27 years teaching and loved this gift. Several of his student's families went in together so the $100 gift wasn't too much of a burden on anyone family.
If you know of a specific hobby he likes (golf, camping, knitting, cars, etc), see if you can get him a gift card toward that hobby. A lot of teachers love books. If he does like to read, he now has ample time to do it, a gc to a book seller in your city would be good. |
My mom is a teacher, she gets gift cards all the time. You know what she does with them? Gives them to her kids (i.e. me!) So yes, please keep giving teachers gift cards, my numerous starbucks cards have almost run out. :D
