Checking others out while driving?
I find myself doing this quite a bit while driving - glancing over at the car that I am passing or get passed by to check out the person who is driving. Might do a double take if it is a good looking woman. (Found myself doing this a lot more ever since I started driving a pick-up a few years ago) My questions are: 1. Do you do this also? 2. If you are a woman, do you like or mind a guy checking you out while driving?

I sort of do this... but for me, it's more like a game... "what kind of person drives THIS car?" Sometimes I'm right, more often I'm wrong.
Traffic jams are good for checking people out, definitely. I wouldn't say I LIKE when a guy is checking me out in the car, but I don't mind it either. Unless he starts shouting. That's not cool.

Just at red lights and traffic jams. It is unfortunate that you are more likely to see something nasty though.....

No, I don't do this unless the person I am passing drove like an idiot a moment before and I just want to check out what it looks like.

Not on the expressway, but definitely at a traffic light.
How can I not love getting checked out? ![]()

I do this often. Even in freeway I do it. I do it when the car is very nice, too big, or lateral. I like women riding bikes, driving cars, or any sports type. I always check them out.
When they are behind my car I keep casually looking at rear-view mirror. Rencently when we both stopped at signal, she came to left lane to take left. I turned to look at her and she smiled and waved bye. As if we had company riding 12+ miles in the freeway. I felt very touchy (stupid thou). She made my day! |

I definitely glare at other drivers if they've done something stupid, especially when I'm the passenger and not the driver.... or just look at them and visibly wonder what the hell they were thinking.
I find myself hyper vigilant to bicyclists on the road these days as well.

i don't ever notice if people check me out while driving, i'm too focused on driving. i'm not really aware of much else... as far as ME checking other people out, I guess I do this most at traffic light stops. I especially like looking at my rearview mirror at the car behind me to see what the guy is doing. if he's hot, even better. i like the idea that they have no idea i'm looking...

CONSTANTLY. I might even wave or wink as I do it, because really - what the hell is going to come of it? Nothing!
I actually find myself using my left hand on the steering wheel more often because it's comfy for me, but also shows off my four naked fingers. And like others have said, if someone pulls an idiot move, I will make a point to start mean-muggin' and glaring as we pass. I never shoot the bird, shout, or anything else... usually the look is enough for me.

I'm very shy. I've always wanted to look at other drivers/passangers while on the road, but I get quite emberassed if they caught me looking. Even if it were a young family, or a 50 year old lady, I still wouldn't be comfortable looking over. Hence, why I look straight ahead and pay attention to the road. I can't expect myself to be able to look at strangers in the eyes while walking down the street, so how can I be comfortable doing it to other people driving right beside me? If I could look over without ever getting caught, I would do it all the time. As a female, I've seen guys look into my car, only if it were blatant gawking, but I don't know if they're checking me out or trying to figure out if I'm attractive or not. It makes me feel VERY Uncomfortable. Last edited by mew; 10-04-2008 at 06:38 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

mew, it is almost that they are checking you out! And if you dont want to be embarrassed by looking at people whether driving or walking is just SMILE. A friendly gentle smile. That is what I do. Trust me it is good to smile and receive a smile.

Constantly at stop lights. In my area, there are some smoking hot young business types, or at least those with sugar daddies. Pretty easily spotted, just look for someone driving a small Mercedes with sunglasses and a cell phone glued to their ear.

I don't check other people out when I'm driving unless I'm stuck in a traffic jam, then I might have a look at the person in the car in front or behind me (In front you can usually see their face in the side mirror if it's positioned right). I don't usually look to the side - that has proved to be a bad idea a few times!
I don't look that often because I'm shy and I feel silly.

This thread cracks me up. I guess ever since I started driving I've noticed men looking at my car. I drive a VW Beetle so automatically it screams woman..most times anyway. When I went away to school in Lubbock I constantly looked around at all the cute guys at the stop lights..usually they looked back and smiled haha. Same thing happens here in CS. I like looking at the attractive people...it's only looking right.
As for the men checking me out...well like LT said turning your head can be dangerous if the guy you look at has been staring at you since you got there. I guess I feel uncomfortable when the lawn workers drive by and yell out stuff from their windows and keep staring...that's kinda crossing the line. Went to the Astros VS Braves bball game last week with a girlfriend and some guys were driving by checking us out. That was fun. I dunno I just consider it a fun time to enjoy all that...you're only young once right ![]() |

I gave up my car a while ago... now ride a motorbike and wear a helmet with a blacked out visor... makes for easy "checking out" without being too obvious. Makes long looks easier without looking like a perv.
I quite like other guys checking out my girl... it's like "yeah have look, but at the end of the day only I get to shag her" ![]() Last edited by nomcat; 10-06-2008 at 10:37 PM.. |

What is there to do on I-95 other than check out other drivers, make fun of ricers, and come up with nonsensical things the letters on license plates could be acronyms for? Mostly it's checking out other drivers.
