ok so i applied for a summer internship with a government institution a few months back. i got rejected, which i expected. since i got rejected, i knew there would be no drug test to worry about, so i smoked pot every once in a while socially. i decided about a month ago that im gonna start to clean up my act and quit. after steadily decreasing my usage, this week i decided would be my last week smoking. but then...

i got an email this morning from a project leader at the institute i applied to saying they have a spot now and that they think i'd be a good fit. good news since i was getting worried i wouldn't find an internship for the summer. bad news is that 3 weeks ago i didn't smoke at all, last week i smoked once with a few friends and this week i smoked 2 times. now since this is sporadic use, not habitual and not frequent, i don't know what to think. i weigh 161 lbs, im 6 feet tall, very little fat on me, pretty crazy fast metabolism and a decent diet. i know thc stays in fat cells, and since i don't have much of that on me and i have a fast metabolism, AND i only used weed infrequently, that i should have a good chance of not testing positive if i get a urine test. oh yea, i don't even know if/when i'll be tested, but school's not out for another 2 weeks so i have at least 2.5 weeks til i MIGHT have to be tested.

thoughts/advice on detox?

It depends upon the test they give you.

It could be out of your piss in as little as 2 weeks. It will come up in your hair for at least 6 months after use.

All you can do is hope for the best.

Golden Seal (available in any health food store or pharmacy) and lots of water will help.

Sex up the person giving you the test, and have them pee in the cup for you.

Or just drink a lot of water and hope it doesn't show up. Give them a start date that gives you a month or so to be clean, but really you'll probably be fine. Usually it's a piss test, and a few weeks after infrequent use shouldn't be a big issue.
