Pretty much the best treehouse ever...
So, I was thinking about how much it would rock to have kids because you get to build them the tree house you never had when you were little because both your parents were gummint employees and worked 12 hour days. Treehouse! FUN! Given my newfound skills with carpentry projects and my creativity, I've decided:
Crompsin Treehouse wish list: - Real shingle roof to keep the rain out - Solid walls w/ insulation to keep fall chill out - Carpet square floor w/ insulation - Plexiglass windows with privacy shutters - Multiple escape hatches - Rope ladder / Cargo net - PVC pipe "fireman slide" - Observation turret with hatches - Dumbwaiter / goodies retrieving mechanism Any good treehouse plans / stories / features? I know some of you monkeypeople had a rockin' treehouse when you were youngins. |

One word: Hammocks. Perfect for sleeping, precarious for shenanigans.
Additional optional secondary features: This tree house would be accessible by zipline from my child's window, Would have a dumbwaiter from the ground up for food resupply, An intercom to the kitchen for placing food orders, a real actual combination safe that even mom and dad didn't know the code to A zipline escape route to the ground

I stripper pole.
A bar with a topless bartender. Plenty of booze. About 9,000 pillows of all sizes. The best sound system known to man. Rope swing. Slide. A barrel of cocaine. What did you expect from me?

- Swing set built in below - Table with cabinet doors built into one wall - Electricity (electrical outlet and lighting - Skylight Maybe you should volunteer materials/services to build a couple for people you know (or for an apartment complex) and then use photos of them as samples for your flyer. People could choose which options they wanted. Start a little side business for yourself. With a variation of the treehouse for people who don't have a tree, a one or two story playhouse. Or a two story one that has an open lower story, for toy storage. My friend has a doghouse built like a short playhouse with plexiglass windows. You could also do those. I saw one built with deck screws instead of nails, so it wasn't a "permanent fixture" and didn't require a permit from the city to build.

Thanks for the input everybody.
I figured more people would have had treehouses when they were wee ones, though... especially folks who grew up out in the boondocks. Quote:
Good idea w/ the build-for-charity suggestion. Maybe I should build one as a test case to see how it works out and give it to someone on Craigslist when I'm done. My kids are so gonna get spoiled with the best treehouse ever. |
