Dumb People...

We run across them everyday, some of us more than others....how do you deal with them?

laugh and make fun usually helps me.

Then when they get all pissed at you, then you can laugh even more because they are dumb and you outwit them ever so easily!

That's mostly for people who are dumb but think they are something special. or lazy people also.

Some people are dumb in certain aspects of life and brilliant in others, I know a man who can't spell worth a damn, some people who call him dumb seeing him write a paragraph. That man runs a multimillion dollar business and is a fucking genius with every aspect, from the shittiest grunt work to the most complicated computer proceedure in the entire business. Some people would call him brilliant at this point.

But since I'm assuming you mean dumb/lazy, it's best to just make fun of them and make your day a little brighter coz its just too fun!

Chiyachan 10-31-2007 02:17 AM

If on the internet, I tend to block them.
In real life, I either ignore them, or hit them.

Then again, that could explain why I'm hit so often... >.>

Baraka_Guru 10-31-2007 02:52 AM

I smile at them, and then I help them out if I can.

Titan_Uranus 10-31-2007 03:34 AM

You've got help the handicapped where you can.

ngdawg 10-31-2007 04:53 AM

I consider them my day brightener and I'm sure I've been considered one as well a time or two.
Friday's day brightener: Parking lot outside the DMV. Two cars, one a small import, the other a huge older Lincoln...both backed out of their spaces at the exact same time.
CRUNCH. The driver of the smaller car got out to yell at the other. Uh, Lady....you didn't look either and his car was bigger.
I drove off laughing and shaking my head.

Dumb doesn't get to the heart of it.

Stupid people are fine, I know a lot of stupid people who are good people. They are what they are, some even know they are stupid, and its easy to deal with and get along with them.

Ignorant people on the other hand are frustrating. You deal with them by being thankful they don't follow you home.

bobdog 10-31-2007 05:50 AM

Take a deep breath and count to ten.

Who is dumb? There are some very stupid people out there but are they dumb.

Stupid people, I think, are those that are either not as clever or have not had the opportunity to learn as much as the majority of people I meet. I think therefore that a measure of stupidity will be whether someone knows as much or as little as me. (For you, you should be the benchmark of stupidity).

I suspect I'm about average in the stupidity spectrum, perhaps, but I 'feel' less stupid than most people I meet (its an ego thing)

I think we can all sympathise and deal with stupid people, maybe we even try to help them but what about the dummies?

Dumb people are not necessarily stupid people. I know dumb lawyers, doctors, dentists and teachers and not so dumb cleaners, MacDonald's servers and junkies. So what is the difference?

Dumb people do things that I wouldn't do. It can often be frustrating and I often put it down to stupidity but it may be because they operate a different logic to me or start from somewhere that I'm not. Dumb people don't think they're dumb, they think I am (you are)!

If we didn't have dumb people there would be no variety and the world would be a sadder place.

Next time you meet a dummy, have some fun and try to work out why they acted dumbly. Whenever I do, I have to be careful that the root cause isn't me!

Actually, I've only ever really met one dumb person. And even he had some rudimentary speech, so I'm not sure if he could really be considered dumb.

Push-Pull 10-31-2007 08:26 AM

Well, assuming that the OP meant stupid rather than dumb taken literally....

I work with a guy who is by all definitions, stupid. This guy couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag. Sometimes, it's fun to pull gags on him. (like paging him to call the extension of the phone he was at, just to watch him call the # for like 5 minutes and wonder why he kept getting a busy signal) Sometimes I stay away especially when he's being annoying, and then other times I feel sorry for him and try to teach him a little.

In general, I just deal with them for as short a time as possible and leave.

Menoman 10-31-2007 09:08 AM

LOL that's what I'm talkin about push-pull.

Those are the kinds of pranks that dummies were created just for !

LazyBoy 10-31-2007 09:43 AM

Thanks people, I needed some ideas....my room mates apparently had a meeting of the minds last year, and decided that our high gas bills were due to the pilot lights...I mean, since they run all the time, they HAVE o use lots of gas, right?....

Cold house+cold shower=unhappy camper...

bahahahaa...the f*cking pilot lights! brilliant!

cj2112 10-31-2007 10:51 AM

I am the dumbest person to ever walk the face of the earth...just ask my 14 y.o. daughter.

ASU2003 10-31-2007 05:05 PM

Pilot lights are a conspiracy by natural gas companies to make you use more gas.
Everyone knows that.

I'll actually be able to tell you how much they use next month, since I won't be home and the pilot lights will be the only thing running.

Willravel 10-31-2007 05:15 PM

Education is key.

I couldnt find any sizes for pilot lights, but some improvement website said it would be $12-20 per pilot light per year

All of my gas appliance now have electric ignition devices rather than pilot lights with the exception of the gas fireplaces. I'd rather have them the old way in case the power goes out and I need heat.
