go to your local hardware store and purchase a piece of metal pipe.

i weigh 225 lbs and havent met a tension bar that can hold me yet, so i think they are trash. if you have exposed trusses anywhere in your basement, get a metal bar like bing bing suggested and put it through the trusses and do your pull ups that way.
