analog. Excellent story. You had me there for a minute.

Painted 05-01-2007 08:36 AM

hah.. that was pretty good analog.

as of late, ive been rolling my own cigarettes. now i can die at half the price...

Mister Coaster 05-02-2007 07:49 AM

I have done absolutely nothing lately... I'm at a dead zero on the cool-shit-o-meter.

The only thing that even comes close to cool was that I needed to buy a lawnmower, and instead of getting a gas or electric one I opted for the old-fashioned push-reel. My neighbors all think its cool-ish and my aunt and uncle thought so too. However, the cool-shit-o-meter only twitched a little.

former newt 05-03-2007 06:57 AM

god damn you guys are interesting...

the coolest thing i've had time to do in the last few weeks is...act in a really lame skit.

I settled a major debt with my university, and am now cleared to resume classes in June. I made an appointment with my advisor, to make sure I haven't missed anything, and barring anything catastrophic, I should finally be graduating for real come September.

On that note, I've been working really hard to take good care of myself this spring so that I don't have a repeat of the spring/summer 2005, where my body crapped out on me due to stress.

Mastadon77 05-05-2007 08:18 PM

Started some weekend courses at the local tech institute so I can get a job that allows me to do what I love and get paid for it.

I finally nailed a song I was trying to play on guitar for the last year or so.

LoganSnake 05-05-2007 09:00 PM

I joined a gym and actually continue to attend it. This is cool for me since I have commitment issues.

passthru 05-12-2007 11:33 PM

I accepted an invitation to go ice skating even though I haven't been in years and didn't have any interest in going. It was a lot of fun. I want to go back again soon and I'm even thinking of buying a pair of skates.
My plan for the next cool thing I will do is pop off my keys and learn Dvorak.
Great thread idea, Miss Mango.

Jetée 05-13-2007 12:05 AM

I temporarily overcame my social anxiety and agoraphobia so that I can for once actually enjoy mself around others. I mildly succeeded.

Impetuous1 05-13-2007 06:17 AM

Bought my first house and am in the process of remodeling it.

serlindsipity 05-13-2007 06:19 AM

I graduated college with a double degree. I keep forgetting people consider this an accomplishment.

StellaLuna 05-13-2007 07:18 AM

I went swing dancing last night. Didn't break anyone's legs and actually had a lot of fun (and may have a basic idea of what I'm doing)!

snowy 05-13-2007 05:33 PM

I just ordered a laptop. It's a major upgrade over my desktop. I've been waiting a long time to have enough money to spare to get a laptop in the first place, and so being able to do this is a big deal to me.

soma 05-13-2007 05:59 PM

I did a half decent job of ironing my pants. Go me!

tenniels 05-13-2007 06:51 PM

I made a photo album for one of the clients I work with (I work in a group home with adults with disabilities and she has downs syndrome). It had pictures of the birthday party I threw for her, and some of our holidays we went on together. She was really happy when I gave it to her, although her favourite picture was of her birthday cake *laughs*

Seems like the rest of you are up to some really cool things, my life seems mundane in comparision.

n0nsensical 05-15-2007 03:52 PM

went on a vision quest

Martian 05-16-2007 02:47 AM

I made a new friend and helped somebody in need. It wasn't dramatic. It wasn't world-changing. It wasn't even life-changing. Nobody even knows it happened but the two of us and I'm not raising a big fuss about it. But I held her while she cried and did something completely selfless. It's possibly the best thing I've done with myself in months and makes it very difficult to get too upset about anything else going on.

The real human moments are what help us to keep a handle on life. Those who wall themselves off risk losing that.

match000 05-16-2007 07:16 AM

i am about to eat fishsticks

squeeeb 05-16-2007 08:11 AM

i just did a wicked cool powerslide into the parking lot at work, kinda like the ace ventura parking job in the first movie, but not as precise

ItWasMe 05-18-2007 08:48 PM

Thought about buying an ipod. Joined TFP. Cleaned out 2 storage areas. Still thinking.

nrclark 07-28-2009 05:19 AM

I know you wrote this a while ago , and hopefully your life doesn't feel mundane any longer , but ,
creating a photo album for someone with a disability is about as far away from "mundane' as you can get . . .

I have been sitting outside on our balcony every morning with my boyfriend before he goes to work enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise while our dog sits at our feet watching the birds wake up. It's really kind of fabulous, I have to say.

Plan9 07-28-2009 08:10 AM

I'm a PADI-certified SCUBA diver now.

I went to the class afraid of being in the water and now I've got the confidence to go down to 40 feet and hang out with the fishes.

Congrats, bro. I'm still in the bookwork phase of getting my SDI cert.

telekinetic 07-28-2009 08:33 AM

I made a slideshow for my daughter's 1st birthday party. It's amazing how much she has changed--she now seems like a tiny person instead of a living doll. We took pictures of her all but like 10 days of her first year...the slideshow has 800 pics in it, we ran it during her party against a mix of Raffi music.

DaniGirl 07-28-2009 08:42 AM

Went camping with my husbands family at a water park. It was really fun. We got drunk by the camp fire and talked all night. FUN FUN FUN!!

Anormalguy 07-28-2009 11:13 AM

Got a new roof put on my F&MIL's house at relatively little cost to them (insurance deductabile), and closed the sale of said house.

RickB 07-28-2009 07:32 PM

Took the family on vacation to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Rocky Mountain National Park and Arches National Park.

wooÐs 07-28-2009 09:14 PM

I grew some balls about an hour and 1/2 ago and laid down the law to my ex bf / current 'boy toy,' with whom I share the L-word with. I'm too old for this complicated, cutesy 20-something PT relationship. He either loves me and is with me for keeps or he's gone bye bye. I'm not getting any younger dammit.

forseti-6 07-28-2009 10:26 PM

I shot the first two rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament in Portland, Ore. Man the Rose Garden media room had the best food and all the vitamin water I could ever drink.

Charlatan 07-28-2009 10:36 PM

Went to Hanoi with my family.

DaniGirl 07-28-2009 10:41 PM

Just got back from Machu Picchu where I got to see the sun rise over the mountain tops and pour into the valley. Took the new camera up to the top of Wynapicchu, and the other mountain top (Can't remember the name)... Got some sweet shots of an almost full circle rainbow at 9000ft.

snowy 07-29-2009 08:41 PM

Went swimming in the Willamette River. The water was clear enough to see the baby fishies shining in the sun.

Sue 07-30-2009 04:51 AM

My classmates and I got to use a Hoyer Lift on each other, aka a body sling.

clavus 07-30-2009 02:07 PM

I had a snowball fight on an active volcano. The steam vents sounded like a jet engine.

I allowed the Applied Math Department at University of Italy in Venice to use my cartoon as a recruiting tool.

I interviewed Doug Tennapel.

I swam a mile.
