Planar Fasciitis -My treatment
i'Ve gOT SPeCiaL sHOEs!
No, really. I bought some super expensive shoes that seem to reduce the daily footpain which I have been experiencing. The shoe brand is called Masai Barefoot Technology and the shoes simulate walking on sand. Generally it feels like my weight is more evenly distributed across my feet and I am forced to stretch my Achilles tendon as I walk. There is a lot of extra padding in them and they add an inch to my height. These shoes have cut down on the footpain that I generally feel. The downside is that they cost a lot of money and they look weird. Here is the pair I bought: http://www.zappos.com/images/730/730...9-399574-p.jpg Here is one of their websites: http://www.swissmasaius.com/Principle.aspx The other part of the treatment aims at preventing me from pointing my toes when I sleep. This is a problem because I feel the most pain in the mornings when I wake up. Pointing your toes effectively shrinks your Achilles and starts the limping in the morning. So I got a night splint which is designed to keep my foot from pointing. It looks similar to this: http://rs.runningwarehouse.com/rw/big/NS-big.jpg |
I rolled my feet on frozen water bottles. Helped a lot. It was on the advice of a physical therapist who also happens to be one of the leading swing dance instructors on the West Coast.

I was told to roll my foot on anything round - we had a decent sized Rubber cement bottle that I had handy while at school that I would use for a quick fix if needed.
