Checking out Nashville TN and/or Louisville KY
Hubby and I have a wedding to go to in Evansville IN in May, and from Asheville we have the choice of going two ways- one way that takes us through Nashville, and another way (that's a little longer) that takes us through Louisville. I would like to make a day trip in either of these cities, and was wondering if y'all could help a gal choose!
We are really, seriously NOT interested in the music scene in Nashville. I'm leaning towards Louisville because Kentucky has the Kentucky Derby and BOURBON! What we'd really like to see (and y'all are gonna laugh) are liquor stores with good selection and stuff that we can't get in NC/SC. That's why I'm leaning towards KY- because we already know what's in TN (although Nashville might have a better selection). If we could tour a distillery that'd be awesome too! Can you guys lend me your traveling expertise and help me choose my vacation route? ![]()

Another Louis-villian here. I like going to Nashville, but it is all about the music. If you decide for KY, you need to go to the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto (about an hour and a half southeast of L-ville). It is by far the best distillery tour in KY. Louisville also has the Louisville Slugger Museum, Churchill Downs, and the Muhammad(sp?) Ali Museum that I've heard is very good.
