Depression, Money Problems, and Foot Pain!
I have a number of issues with my right foot. As mentioned in a previous thread I developed planar fasciitis. I also had (note past tense) a terrible big toe nail fungus. All of these issues occurred when I was severely depressed because of my terrible career changes in the past couple of years.
The toe fungus was slow onset. I reasoned that I would get it taken care of when I finally got a job with good benefits AND a salary that could afford copays. Now that I am officially hired at a place with both -the fungus has already subsided. Perhaps, it's the daily dousings with Tea Tree Oil/Soap but I remember just last year -when I thought it was going to drop off -that it'd get better when my life improved. The planar fascitiis occurred when I was an Insurance Agent. Originally I was walking up the stairs and nearly fell down them because it occurred in BOTH FEET. For those who don't know -it's an incredibly sharp pain in your heel or bottom of your foot. So there I was dirt poor, wearing a suit, in the fancy office of a major life insurance company -and I immediately snuck (hobbled) into an empty office so that I could take off my shoes and see what was wrong with my feet. I massaged them both a little but the pain continued. It eventually left my left foot but stayed with my right foot. I am trying to stretch it in the mornings with some success. Anyways, my theory on the cause was stress. My body damaged itself because I was under stress. Now it just wasn't the poor money situation that caused it but everything that went with that. Poor diet, crappy -rent a room situation. My life sucked and is just starting to swing out of suck right now. My new job has good insurance too. I think I'll get those orthotic shoes that everyone talks about and pay for it with my FSA money. |
