Late To bed Early to rise
I cant seem to get to sleep until around midnight-2am and it is really hurting me. At first when i started wakeing up for additional schooling (i work at a mall so dont start till 10am) it was fine but now i am always tired. So my question is... Is there a way to go to sleep earlier or a way to no longer be tired (ie Some mental trick) I dont think i need a doctor because it isnt a major problem but i always feel tired.
Thanks.

SiN is right in forcing yourself to go to bed eariler even if you arent tired. it sounds to me like your body's sleep cycle has been pushed forward from where it should be.
only way to correct that is go to bed eariler even if you cant sleep. set your alarm for the desired time and FORCE yourself to get up then and hit the day, even if you only got 5 hours of sleep. then next night do the same, go to bed early, wake up on the alarm at the exact same time. rinse and repeat. after around a week, maybe even less your clock should adjust to this sleep pattern and u should be ok, as long as you dont throw youself out again. you'll also find that after a prolonged period of time that you will actually begin to wake up just before your alarm goes off, heh its a bitch waking up with 5 mins to go, but at least you wont wake from your deep sleep cycle which is what causes you to feel the most tired when you first wake up (as opposed to waking up from rem sleep = good). masturbation is also a great idea to relax ![]()

avoid any sort of caffeine (even chocolate) and sweets after 6pm. It will stay in your system for hours and hours and can keep you awake.
Also alcohol can have the effect of a stimulant and keep you up. A hot bath always knocks me out too. That and mindless sitcoms.

I just get into bed, start reading a dull book. Makes me drop off quick enough

I find after half a fifth I'm usualy ready to drop asleep, and wake up real early the next morning (usualy about 6 or so hours later). Whenever I need to go to sleep early, I drink early, drink plenty of water right before I go out and it's all good.
Of course this is just what works for me. |
