eccentric behavior you never taught them ...
Every pet I ever did at least one thing that made me wonder, "where the heck did he/she learn that?"
My dog, Albert, does this thing when he wants to get my attention. He wiggles around on his back looking at me upside down the whole time. Then he freezes on his back (still looking at me upside down) as in playing "dead" with all his paws curled in except for his left front paw which is pointed straight out ... usually right at me! He's been known to stay there for 2 minutes frozen until I say something.... What to your pets do? Please share.

My bird, on occasion, will wake me up with a brilliant imitation of a T-rex.

Its so darn cute when Abby my alpha female feline will give me a meow that sounds just like shes saying "MOM!" when she wants attention badly. The expression on her face evades description.

Old Gus had places he would not go. The NE corner of the deck he would only creep up to and peek around the corner. He refused to go in or out of the utility room door (all other doors were ok). He would not go under the covered patio.
My sweet Rottie winks at me from time to time. Delibrately. I wink back and he gets this big grin on his face. |

One of my cats, Baxter, loves brooms. Whenever the broom comes out I have to sweep him down his back repeatedly before he will allow me to sweep what really needs to be swept. Then he follows me as I sweep, rubbing against the broom and grabbing the bristles. This became such a serious issue that I bought Baxter his own broom.

My cat taught herself to play fetch. I had a Christmas bow in my hand and she kept mewing at it so I threw it in jest. She ran over, got it, and brought it back. Now she plays all the time.
The weirdest thing she'll do is when I have something she wants to look at she will wrap her paw around my arm and bring my hand close so she can inspect it, then she'll let go and go about her business. She acts more like a person/dog then any cat I've ever seen.

In the morning my cat will greet me with several meows, so I pet him. If I stop petting him too soon though, he will bite my hand. If I continue to walk away he will chase me and bite my feet. So then I must retract by giving him another little pet. He has me wrapped around his little paw.

My cats have an unwritten "time share" for me when im in bed reading. They take turns on who gets to purr beside mommy.
