Question for Chicagoans (Chicago Parks District)
 

I am looking for gyms in the Wicker Park/Ukranian Village area since I just moved to Chicago. I'm pretty frugal so I was considering the Y but it's a decent ride away through a not so great area. I was considering just using the local Ekhart Park facility but nobody seems to know anything about it and there is very little information online. Would anybody know if they charge for use (I'm assuming they do) and if you can recommend their facilities. Thanks!

I don't know much about the gyms around here. We are lucky and have a free gym in our apartment building. However, I do know that the park districts here are great and pretty easy to work with. If you stopped in, I'm sure you'd get a lot of information. If nothing else, you could just jog or bike at the lakefront. Although, winter is brutal, so I just stay inside. :)
