Dementia in a parent

My mom is suffering with dementia and I am her primary care giver. Is anyone else dealing with either this or a similar issue?

A medicine called Risperdal/Risperdone has worked well for my father with Alzheimers, and also a friends mother with a diagnosis of just plain dementia. Ask her doctor......:)

Hey, sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet - my mom is on Aricept and has been for the last 8 months, but we've noticed that it's losing its effectiveness. We're going to be talking with her docs regarding what to do next. It's a long process, I know. It's hard when she only sees her Neurologist only every six months, and he only asks her to do a few "tricks" and answer some questions before sending us out again. I'm about to go all "relative-like" on him, I am.
