Work dilemna
So theres this new-hire at work, just got hired into another assembly line across the shop from where I am. Well the other night he was on my line because we were extremely short handed. Anyhow, my line is really laid back, and we joke alot. Anyhow, I made a sarcastic comment after changing positions and changing back to right next to him abnormally fast- I just said sarcastically 'ya miss me?'. Well I guess the whole rest of the night he was bad mouthing me behind my back, calling me gay, threatening to kick my ass if I said anything else to him. Well, now I need to make a descision. What he did is easily enough to get him fired, especially with the 90 day probation he's still on. Normally I'd just let it go, but people on my line wont shut up about it. what should I do?

Get his bitchass fired. Who wants to work with an obviously idiotic homophobe?
Did any of your cow orkers stick up for you or tell him that you weren't gay? Hell, he's the new guy; he should be the one taking shit, not giving it.

Say something else to him and let him try to kick your ass....then get him fired AND arrested for assault
Then go up to a co worker that didnt stick up for you and asked him if he missed you

But not before you tell him that you ARE actually gay, he's not your type and and can still kick his ass.

Put him in his place in front of your coworkers that he is obviously trying to impress. With his attitude, he's most likely not going to last long as an employee anyway, but it's not about getting him fired, it's about saving face. Call him out about it, face to face, in front of your coworkers. If the workplace is relaxed enough, seal the deal with something along the lines of "for the record, just because I let you suck my dick that doesn't make me gay."
Or just talk to your supervisor and get the dude fired.

should clarify a little. The people on my line wont shut up about the fact that it happened. At the tail end of the night(after he'd already talked all the shit behind my back- i didn't know yet) the guy working next to him called over to me, "hey man, tell him your gay" and I just said something like "yeah man".. its kind of a running joke on our line that everyone elsewhere in the shop thinks I'm gay, so the fact that they were screwing with the new guy didn't phase me any, until I heard the bodily threats made behind my back(interestingly enough, I have 4 inches and about 20 or 30 pounds on this guy). At least have the gonads to threaten me to my face. Or is he afraid he's gonna get his head handed to him on a platter? My coworkers would never 'stick up for me' in that place everyone talks all the shit they want, and everyone else just nods and says sure. But of coarse, anything said behind someones back doesn't stay secret for long.
Unfortunately my workplace is only lax around my line. Any confrontation anywhere else would result in at least a suspension if not flat out firing of both of us. I got 86 days left of his probation to antagonize him into doing something stupid. I think I'll let this one thing slide, and see if he wants to start any more shit. He seems like he's punk enough to talk more shit behind my back, if he does his ass can say buh bye good money and benefits. Maybe when we're both order picking be real friendly with him and see what I can get outta him, hahah. |

Ask him out for a nice lobster dinner and tell him you want to take him up to Lookout Point. Then lay claim to being "the big spoon".
Or you could just ignore him and realize that with an attitude like that, he's going to do something stupid enough to get himself fired without your contribution. Unless you're really worried about your safety, what's the point?

If you aren't concerned for your safety then why do you care? Excuse me if I assume a bit but it seems as if neither he, nor your co-workers, nor that job is worth all that effort.
Your comment created the situation - grow up and get over it.

the words 'bitch' and 'ass' should never be used in the same sentence as guy. just thought i'd let you guys know .
just do what you do normally. make sure management knows about whats going on, so that if things get heated next time its not the both of you getting the sack.
