What kind of doctors deals with this ailment?

Hey all,
I've been having pressure in my eyebrows for so long and a few months ago, it's transferred to my face. My whole cheek/jaw area feels numb, tense and not normal. It's like it's almost paralyzed. I can move it, but i'm afriad that it will lead to something more serious or that one day i'll wake up and cannot move my face!
I've went to a general health doctor nad she didn't even examine it. She just said that it looks fine.(but maybe it's something that you cannot see with the eye)...she told me not to worry and gave me antibiotics in case it is an infection. But i really do not want my face to be a guinea pig and keep on taking medications and cancelling each alternative of an ailment.
Should I be concerned? What kind of screenings/tests are odne for such symptoms and who do I go to for this? what kind of doctor? Thanks in advance.

I'd sure go to someone else. From what you've said, the one Dr. you went to prescribed something without knowing what was needed. Again, from what you described (she didn't examine your face, just looked at it). Prescription before diagnosis is malpractice.

As Sirlance suggested see an ENT and if he doesn't find anything then I suggest a dentist. When I was a kid I got this throbbing earach and went to my uncle who was an ENT, he checked me out and said my ears were fine, go see a dentist. I ended up having an abscessed tooth.

hundove, I hope you get it figured out soon, I can see how it would be worrisome!

Thanks all for the wonderful suggestions.
What is the medical term for a ENT doctor. Where do I search under (ex: neurologist, dentist, etc.)?
Thx!

ENT - Ear Nose, Throat

Since the problem seems to be growing, I suggest a second opinion from a GP so that he/she can send you to the proper medical specialist. Getting a referal from a real doctor is the best way to go.
