Ego-humping thread..
 

Not enough people do it - in the same vein as "post something nice about the previous poster" and in indirect response to "women who are self-conscious" - post something TRUE and NICE about yourself.

I expect you to post every day, if you can. Try to make it original, but sometimes the things that need to be said the most aren't the most original.

Don't phrase them as "I am not," but "I am." Stay away from the caveats - "I am nice most of the time" should just be "I am nice."

And keep 'em positive. If I see anything negative, I'm going to kick you in the PANTS!

To get it started:

I am a unique individual.
I am pretty.
I am an excellent student.

Now you all had better reply, lest I look like a braggart. Join the fun, and say something nice about yourself. Don't you dare walk away with the thought that there isn't anything nice to say - or guess what? I'll kick you in the pants! Don't worry about sounding cocky - I already covered that.

I am well spoken
I am easy going
I am dedicated to my craft

I am good with my money
I am nice to people who are nice to me
I am not lazy

I am knowledgeable.
I am tenacious.

I've got the hottest wife in the history of wives.

I suppose I just disagree a little with the philosophy of the OP. For me to make definitive statements like that would require that I be able to control outcomes when the most I can control is the intent of my input, hence the way I worded my statements. I don't always enjoy my job, so "I usually enjoy my job" is the more accurate statement. I do sometimes hurt others' feelings, so "I try to be considerate" is more accurate than "I am considerate".

I'm really not comfortable with making unconditional statments that can't be objectively measured because that tends to set me up for disappointment when I don't measure up. I think it's better, for me anyway, to have a realistic image of myself than an unrealistically positive one.

I'd rather have a moderate ego than a pumped up one. There's less distance to fall.

so even to say something positive like:

I am a the best spouse to Grace I can be.
I am loving to Sissy.

is too much to put down?

The first one, yes. I'd say, "I try to be the best wife I can be." It's very unlikely that I'm a perfect wife, so if I were to say "I am the best" that wouldn't really be accurate.

The second one I'd phrase as "I love Sissy," which means much the same, so that one I'm fine with.

Ok, I'll make some definitive, positive statements:

Grace, by the way, speaks Japanese (natively), Thai (passably), and Spanish.

Sissy is my sister. She is a post-op transwoman, straight as an arrow and more than a little boy crazy, tall, athletic, beautiful, just short of 21, a genius, and we don't generally discuss sexuality in casual settings. You'd certainly be welcome in our home, for whatever that's worth. They're both Buddhists, by the way, so the topic of conversation would probably have to be some random bit of pop culture. Oh, say, comic books for example.
