Ego-humping thread.. - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Not enough people do it - in the same vein as "post something nice about the previous poster" and in indirect response to "women who are self-conscious" - post something TRUE and NICE about yourself.

I expect you to post every day, if you can. Try to make it original, but sometimes the things that need to be said the most aren't the most original.

Don't phrase them as "I am not," but "I am." Stay away from the caveats - "I am nice most of the time" should just be "I am nice."

And keep 'em positive. If I see anything negative, I'm going to kick you in the PANTS!

To get it started:

I am a unique individual.
I am pretty.
I am an excellent student.

Now you all had better reply, lest I look like a braggart. Join the fun, and say something nice about yourself. Don't you dare walk away with the thought that there isn't anything nice to say - or guess what? I'll kick you in the pants! Don't worry about sounding cocky - I already covered that.

I suppose I just disagree a little with the philosophy of the OP. For me to make definitive statements like that would require that I be able to control outcomes when the most I can control is the intent of my input, hence the way I worded my statements. I don't always enjoy my job, so "I usually enjoy my job" is the more accurate statement. I do sometimes hurt others' feelings, so "I try to be considerate" is more accurate than "I am considerate".

The first one, yes. I'd say, "I try to be the best wife I can be." It's very unlikely that I'm a perfect wife, so if I were to say "I am the best" that wouldn't really be accurate.

The second one I'd phrase as "I love Sissy," which means much the same, so that one I'm fine with.

You're several steps up on my parents, then.

Grace, by the way, speaks Japanese (natively), Thai (passably), and Spanish.

Sissy is my sister. She is a post-op transwoman, straight as an arrow and more than a little boy crazy, tall, athletic, beautiful, just short of 21, a genius, and we don't generally discuss sexuality in casual settings. You'd certainly be welcome in our home, for whatever that's worth. They're both Buddhists, by the way, so the topic of conversation would probably have to be some random bit of pop culture. Oh, say, comic books for example.

Once defeated 37 out of the 41 fellow students at my last dojo in sparring, in a row.
I'm very modest and humble (except for this post

Have a great deal of stamina, and endurance.
Very patient.
Would never presume to think I have accomplished anything.
Can anticipate movements.
Sometimes understand what the hell Stephen Hawkings is talking about.
And I thoroughly enjoy the new Battestar Galactica. (needed to be said)

Time to go do something I suck at to take my ego back down a few notches.
