A hangover is simply dehydration of the brain (weird to imagine it), so basically the only "cure" would be rehydration. Therefore, water is your quickest cure.
*on a side note, I prefer hair of the dog myself :p |
The second you stop drinking, start drinking water and don't stop till you can't drink anymore (water that is..). Also take two vitamin C. If you drink water in the morning, you will just puke like crazy. With enough water right after you stop drinking, a hangover can be completely avoided.

It's simple. Take another drink of something not sweet, get the body back into a balance. Then, being pounding water. A painless recovery.

I'll throw out an idea that hasn't been mentioned yet.
Shrimp Cocktails. In the morning, head to your local Seafood place and pick one up. Not only do they taste great, but they're great for hangovers. :D |
try drinking less
ask yourself why you had so much to drink. if you need more than a buzz to have fun you might have a problem...

I usually take a tagamet before I go to bed. Eat something with plenty of carbohydrates, and drink some water.

I try and limit myself as much as possible but sometimes that doesn't always work but I've been taking a cold shower and then jogging. But I am going to try this Gatorade before bed idea.

1) drink water
2) if you can, try something with sugar, like fanta for instace. This to get your blood sugar up again 3) if you can..eat. the best hangover food for me is burgers or pizza or something similar 4) relax 5) nap if you have the possibility 6) go back to the water drinking If you cant eat try an Underberg or a Fernet Branca. But just one small. helps your stomach. |
My personal routine:-
1 - Get out of bed as soon as possible after I wake up. 2 - Cup of tea and a bacon sandwich. 3 - Go back to bed (unless I have work that day in which case see item 4). 4 - Call work with some weak excuse then go back to bed. |
if its just an Alcohol hangover.
then my best advice is... when you get home, before you hit the sack, drink HEAPS of water. then, when you first get up, take some ibuprofen (or paracetemal works for me as well). then go back to bed. and sleep throught the rest of it. if its drugs... then you´re on your own. but i think the most important thing is balance... ENJOY YOURSELF... before, during and after. enjoy the drinking. enjoy the long sleep through the worst times. and enjoy that first beer the next night. |

As it has already been said, drink water lots of water.. I also find that soup and some light toast or crackers really make me fell better, Also a hot shower usually takes away the lead head and the steam seems to make me feel not queasy.

My hangover remedy is to drink a softdrink and the burp as much as i can, dunno why but i feel so much better after i do that. Must be all those toxic gases sitting in my stomach or something, hehe

Kinda expensive, but definitely works! The other option is to take a b-complex vitamin and chug a lot of water before you go to sleep. or do this in the morning if you forget the night before and pass out curled up in the fetal position underneath a kiddie pool. |
