Water Weight? Swelling?
I woke this morning with swollen stiff hands. This is unusual and disconcerting. My hands often get slightly numb from carpal tunnel syndrome but they rarely swell like this. Even when I am used to get a little water weight prior to my monthly. But even then it's not usually this bad. I have 3 slender rings that I often wear and all are relatively loose. They spin easily normally. This morning what drew my attention to the swelling was the fact that my rings felt tight. There was deep indentations around the rings and I could not move them more than a 1/4 of an inch max along my finger. There is no hope of removing any of them though two of them are usually easy to remove. I never take my wedding band off since it can be difficult to get past my knuckle.
I know of plenty of possibilities for this but not many that would cause this sudden change. I am hydrated well enough I'm sure. My skin bounces back when I pinch the back of my hand and I have been drinking enough water and have been taking a multivitamin with potassium. Any ideas what causes this? Anyone encounter this sudden change before? How can I remedy it? Exercises, vitamins, etc? My rings are uncomfortably tight and I won't be able to remove them till the swelling goes down. Thanks

Sounds kinda like an allergic reaction. Did you get bit by a bug yesterday or anything like that? Take any medicine you've never taken before or something?

Checked, no bug bites. Didn't eat anything different either. Didn't go anywhere except 2 blocks to my brother's house. I've been there many times before. Took my Claritan yesterday and today. In theory the Claritan may help then if it's an allergic reaction. I've had allergies before. Usually those reactions swells my throat and face though so I'm not as familiar with this reaction.
Took a Claritan this morning and some Benedryl tonight (I know technically not supposed to do that) because I was starting to have some sinus trouble too. Things aren't any better. I've got a sore throat now as well so I'm starting to suspect some viral infection that is somehow causing this. Not quite sure how.
