Searching for a College
Hello everyone,
I am currently going to be a senior in my high school come this fall. Over the summer I plan to look and learn about some universities / colleges but I am not sure which ones would be right for me. I have maintained pretty good grades so far , my over all gpa is about 3.4 , I have not taken SAT's yet though I estimate they would be around the 1200 range from my practice tests. I am intending to go into business, possibly something with computing. I have a strong mathematical background which should help. I am from connecticut and would love to go to school in the Northeast, but that is not too important to me. Money is not really a problem. I would just like to hear some idea's or recommendations of some possible colleges that might be good for me. A college in a city or one that is fairly large is also the kind of environment I am looking for if anyone has any idea. Thanks for your help, and feel free to ask me anything you want or provide me with a website which might help with my search. *fixed spelling mistake |
i'm sorry, i can't help but point out -
college, not colledge. other than that, i can't help you much, but i wish you luck :) |
ASU has a good school of business and its in Phoenix which is pretty big.
|
Villanova has a good Business school. Georgetown is a great school. Obviously any of the IVY's, but you may need to get the GPA and SAT's up a little (no offense).
Boston College is a very good school and a pretty good location. |
hey bud... how old are ya? i might know of a few things for younger folks... they help people figure out what they might want to get into and what schools would work out for their needs. just reply here or pm me with details.

Pick up the the US news college rankings book. It will give you an easy way to decide what colleges might interest you. After you do that its basically up to you to just visit the ones that interested you.

Don't forget Appalachian State University. If you are an outdoors person, it is almost unbeatable. And they have the friendliest student body of any college I have ever heard of. I heard about this school from somebody who was working at an outdoor school. Now I am about to graduate from app, and I have loved my entire college career.
If App State isn't for you, that's fine, but don't under estimate the importance of choosing a school that fits you as a person. If you go to the wrong kind of school, you will be unhappy, and less successfull than you otherwise would be. I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have if you PM me. Good Luck, Greg |
The advice of my parents who are both graduate professors in marketing: DON'T MAJOR IN BUSINESS AS AN UNDERGRAD. It's too narrow of a field and you can get into business school with ANY undergrad degree. Do not limit yourself by taking all business and econ. classes. That's advice from someone in college and college professors!

That's true, Business is a weak major, perhaps you might wanna go into Accounting.
|
Always, jobs in accounting. Why anybody would want to go into the field escapes me. How abt Communications. You get marketing, advertising, some buisness law etc. You should have someone at your school that specilizes in this stuff. Just don't let them force your choice.
And SIN, these days you don't got to be literate to gradeate. I are one and I can't spell Colledge either;) |
