Changing credit cards within companies.. Can it be done?
As an example:
If I have a Citi College Rewards Card and would like to switch to a Citi Dividend American Express Card, can this be done? Both cards are identical, with the exception being that the latter has a lower interest rate and isn't a "college" card. I pay off my balance in full each month, and the only real desire to switch is for the lowered interest rate, which realistically isn't an issue, as I never carry a balance. However, I am curious.. If I am able to make this switch, what would the process entail?

To get the other card, call the company and tell them you want to apply for the ______ card. They will take your application info over the phone, and the results will be mailed to you within 6 weeks.

Jimellow - it can be done and has been done. I did it with Citibank myself about 3 weeks ago going from a Visa to a Mastercard and one program to another. Pick up the phone and call.
