Getting back into it. At one time, 100/day was the norm. But today I'll add in 25. So 142,460

Came across the One Hundred Pushup Program yesterday, instantly reminded me of the challenge. Figure this should motivate me to kick the extra 20lbs I got hanging on me. Just to kick it up, I throw in the side plank after each push up. Last edited by evilbeefchan; 07-18-2008 at 01:44 PM.. |

I am extraordinarily happy to see this is still going strong, even if it fell off for a while...
I, myself, have fallen off the wagon - more than a couple of times since I was last here. Time to get back on the horse. (Yeah, what can I say? I love to mix metaphors.) 144,666 + 20 = 144,686 |

OK, so like an average of 100/week for the past 12 weeks = 1,200.
So therefore.... 144,806 + 1,200 146,006

I'm trying out that 100 push-ups program, starting at Level 3. Maybe it will keep me motivated to "do the 100" and keep that ability (which is a lot easier and less life-consuming to keep up with than marathoning).

I did 55 of the "perfect pushups" with that rotating device on a bet. 146,052+55=146,107

Oh goodness, I have a feeling I'm going to be repeating a lot of weeks in that program. I'm only on Day 3 of Week 1 and I could barely push out the minimum. I also had to go back to being on two feet and palms instead of one foot and knuckles after the first set.
146,298 + 63 = 146,361

Day 1, Week 1, Square 1 again. And worse than the first time! I don't seem to be recovering from these supersets very quickly...

I did two sets of 20 with my ab workout at the track today. I know this is the opposite of "rest" but I guess I can live with having really slow progress on the 100 push-ups program since it involves pushing my limits in a way that makes me feel strong daily. Doing 100 in a row would be nice someday, too.
146,475 + 40 = 146,515

So I took several days rest by accident and picked up with Week 1, Day 2 (take 2) today. I just noticed that the rest recommendation says "or longer if necessary" which I didn't understand before. I rested longer between sets and pumped out a bunch more today.
12, 12, 10, 10, 22 = 66 146,837 + 66 = 146,903 Maybe this won't be so awful after all.
