Driving Directions
Does anyone know how to make any of the popular driving direction programs route you through just Canada? I'm driving home in the summer from Vancouver to Toronto, and I wanted to know how many kilometers it is, but Google, Mapquest and Yahoo are all routing me through the States. I know it's faster, but I have no interest in paying out-of-country tolls and Northern Ontario is really beautiful to drive through.
Thanks in advance. -Tamerlain |

AAA member? get a triptik from them... if not, become one, they can get you discounts on lodging and also be able to help out if you need any roadside assistance.

I'd buy an atlas, and keep it in the car.
It comes in very handy when you take a wrong turn. Something I manage to do on just about trip I take.

We had a triptick from CAA when we drove out here, we didn't use it once. It's surprisingly easy to get out here, you just hit the TransCanada Highway and head West till you hit Vancouver. I don't have it anymore though, so I can't check it for the total km.
I also have an atlas, just in case. I just wanted something easy to check the distance from here to Toronto through Canada. When we got the triptick, they asked us which way we wanted to go, so there has to be a program out there somewhere. -Tamerlain |

This new beta maps from yahoo is pretty freaking neat btw... -bear
