Help Make me fashionable?

I'm cleaning out my closet and drawers, and giving it all away. I've lost over 50 pounds in the last half year, so none of my clothes fit me anymore. Help me make fashion concious purchases!

I'm 5'11", have short sandy blond haired, blue eyes, light skin, muscular. I'm at around a 32 waist, with 30" pant legs. What looks good on a guy with my build? What should I stay away from? I need recommendations for business casual and plain casual. Thanks!

Oh yeah... I'm 21 and still going to school, but I also have a job as an intern at a large corporation, so I have to dress up.

A thread I started for just such an occasion. I'd say go with what makes you look comfortable. What job do you have? How do other people dress at work? What do you feel comfortable in? Jeans? T shirts? Sweatervests?

At work, its dress pants or khakis, button up shirts (short or long) and dress shoes.

When I'm wearing casual I usually wear jeans and an unbranded/designed tee shirt, with some sporty (Think Adidas or Puma) tennis shoes.

I guess I'll get more help if I can target some problem areas...
Dress:
Should I get shirts with designs or solid colors? Front pocket on shirt, or no? Cuffs on pants or not? Pleated or flat front? What colors would look best with light skin/hair? What should I look for in shoes, besides comfort, and what looks most professional? I'd like to dress for the job I want, not the job I have.
Casual:
Should some of my jeans be tight (I don't buy them to be baggy, but they aren't tight, currently)? Tuck in button up shirts? I'd like to present an air of maturity, without looking old. What kinds of shoes or shirts should I incorporate into my casual attire that would accomplish that?

A great deal of style comes from personal prefrence and personality. I like combining solds and patterns, but that doesn't work for everyone. Don't pleat. Grey, navy blue work well with blonde hair. Go expensive on shoes, ties, belt and watch, always. Always get the suit taylored by someone who you trust. Eevn a cheap suit ($200-$600) can look relaly great when well taylored. When I got my first big boy job, I went out with my first paycheck (which didn't list how many hours I work) and I bought a great suit. Kennith Cole, as I recall. Since then I've lived and learned a bit. I know that I look best in Hugo Boss, but I can't pull of Zenga. Learn what looks best on you. I will use Hugo for the rest of my life.

How old are you? Are you into sports? What do you do for fun? I have to know this before I can take you in a certian direction.

I'm 21. I like soccer but don't play often. For fun, basically all of the same stuff most other college kids do, minus any clubbing, but plus fishing. Drinking, the movies, video games, stuff like that. I guess you could say I'm more into exercise than the average person, I try to hit the gym 5 days a week at least.

I've been told I look, act, or present some air of confidence that makes me seem older than I am, by different people.

Honeslty, you're in about the same boat I'm in. I get low rise boot cut jeans from American Eagle (www.ae.com), shirts from second hand shops usually, but often just a simple graphic t from anywhere (I like www.diesel.com). I like track jackets because the collars can be zipped to keep the neck warm and they can look quite sharp. I have a jacket, shirts, and pants from Express (www.expressfashion.com).

Try this:
Jeans: AE Destroyed Low-Rise Boot Jean
Shirt:Pixel Logo T-Shirt from Armani Exchange
Jacket: (no url available, as the express site is all flash) Herringbone Washed Blazer (www.expressfashion.com, then click "men" in the bar "styles", click jackets, then page 2)
Shoes:Aldo "Orphelin" Casual Shoes
Belt:AE Destroyed Belt
Sunglasses: Diesel "Mod DS0035" Sunglasses (another flash site, http://www.diesel.com/site.html)

A good reference, innovis: try and catch What Not To Wear on TLC sometime when they have a man on.

Also, if you have a female friend you think is stylish, have her take you shopping. My best girl friend and I did this for a good guy friend recently, and he's dressing better than he has in ages!

I love a good pair of jeans.. diesel jeans are hot. (zathan)

I wear Diesel or Edwin for jeans.
New balance 574 shoes.
I do T shirts from American Eagle, American Apperal, or Abercrombie and fitch.
I also am a big fan of track jackets.

I stay away from destroyed clothing, I like to keep my look 'clean', but a few damaged items are nice.

Make sure you are getting boot cut jeans. You don't want your jeans to bunch up around the shoes.. and it is better to hide the laces and tongue of the shoe.

Gotta make up your mind, how much you want to care about fashion. It can get quite costly.

Hi, I can give you some advice from the female point of view.

If you're not sure, shirst with solid colours are easier to pull off. Shirts with simple patterns are ok, nothing too busy. Don't mix patterns if you can help it. If you do, one pattern has to be very discreet. No front pocket is nicer. If you have a front pocket, not with a button. Never, EVER, wear pleated trousers, they look awful on everyone. They make you look bigger than you are and give you wide hips. Colours for fair haired blue eyed people: light to dark shades of blue, greys, beiges, white, muted off-colours. Shoes should alweays be comfortable, and not too busy. Tricked out trainers make you look like a teenager. Simple lines but stylish, with a different detail. Same goes for shirts, you can have a solid colour shirt but with a nice detail on it that's not too big. Only tuck in shirts if it's a formal event...otherwise just leave it out. Jeans should not be too tight but shouldn't be too baggy. Nicely fitted around the bum, and a little looser on the leg, while still giving an idea of your overall shape. I hope that helps!

Tight fit jeans done right can be good. They do make you look a bit metro, but as long as you don't act metro that should be fine.
