Hi!

I'm doing some research for a paper I'm about to write. I'm going to look into how new technologies might change how we organize our lives, and especially businesses, in the future. I'm supposed to produce a vision of the future, but based on knowledge of todays technology. Any suggestions of any new exciting techonolgies I should take a closer look at?


All suggestions will be appreciated :)

check out the MIT cyborgs. These guys have wearable computers that output to a display that's on the lens of their glasses. There's a built in camera with face recognition technology. The name of whoever the wearer is looking at is displayed on the glasses. Never forget a face, or details about that person, again.

I'm gonna say Direct Neural Interface is gonna be the future (ok so maybe I read to much Sci-Fi as a young adult). you just have a plug installed behind your ear, and you plug yourself right into the network.

How far into the future?

(The further the easier your paper will be, as you can then just write off the wall stuff, and no one will be able to really argue with you :lol: but closer to the present requires such horrible things as research, coherent arguments and all that stuff.....)


EDIT: If you are allowed to be far into the future and totally speculative, then I reccommend "The Age Of Spiritual Machines" by Ray Kurzweil. The book is off the wall...but a lot of fun to read! :thumbsup:

It's can be as far into the future as I wish, but it has to be as you said; based on research and such :)

Some topics I could discuss is: Blogs have influenced medias and is a movement that is still growing. How can blogs change how our organizations work? ..

clean, cheap energy will be the next big tech, coupled with Nano tech.

Check out www.physorg.com for a good news site for sci-tech stuff.

I'd talk about China, personally. Or how the current batch of big content distribution corporations are screwing up the balance of power in copyright... and how that imbalance is going to play out after they've finally died but the laws they bought to protect their failed business model are still in place.

I hear the WHEEL is going to change things.
