new furnace

Not sure if this is the section or not, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions/stories as I am going to have a new furnace installed. I just bought an older home about 3 months ago and knew when i bought it that it would need a new furnace as the old model was installed in 1959!!!!

I had union energy/reliance come in and give me an estimate and i liked there service options. I think I am going to go with a new humidifier and the extra warranty, so the price will be around 4g's for our new furnace. Seems like a good price, comparable to the other estimates i had. Anyone have a new furnace installed recently?

That is just a little over what I paid Enbridge to install and maintain a new furnace in my place about 3 years ago.

It was a medium efficency forced air gas furnace.

I wasn't home when my old one died or the new one went in so I can't give you more than that...

Sounds good, all the people we had who came and gave estimates were shocked that our current furnace still worked. It out lived its expected life by double! But there was no way i was going to chance it going down, better to get a new one and save a ton on the rising cost of gas/electricity....

When I moved in my furnace was about 20 years old... it was 28 years old when it died. You probably made a good call on getting it swapped out now. Nothing worse than no heat in the middle of winter.

I know, last year my wife was pregs and she always wanted the house cold, saved me a ton in heating costs, now with the little one i figure the heat is gonna be pumping! Better to get it over with now than frozen pipes in december.
